Which position should I maintain during a workout?
The position that you maintain during the sessions can help you receive more oxygen and properly expel carbon dioxide from the body. Remember to keep your chest elevated throughout certain exercises (do not slouch or let your abdominal area get too relaxed).
The ideal breathing is inhaling through the nose and exhaling through your mouth. However, when the demand for oxygen is higher (in high intensity workouts), it becomes necessary to inhale oxygen through the mouth in addition to the nose .
During strength exercises, it is usually best to inhale oxygen when we are in a relaxed position and breathe out when we are engaging the muscles.
In most aerobic exercises it is important that you adapt to a constant rate of breathing to avoid interrupting the supply of oxygen .
