Tabata is a very efficient method to shed extra fat while also building lean muscle. It was created by a Japanese professor who discovered that 8 rounds of high intensity (20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest) was the best pattern for the goals mentioned above.
Even though it might be a bit boring because you're doing the same exercise over and over again you want to do them with high intensity so that it really works. Your first 4-5 rounds would feel easy and the last rounds (6-8) would be more challenging so try your best to complete the same number of reps on each round to keep it efficient.
